Intrinsically Disordered Petals

This collection captures the allure of frozen flowers, drawing inspiration from the concept of intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs)—proteins that lack a stable three-dimensional structure, existing in a fluid, ever-changing state. Much like these proteins, the flowers in my work defy fixed form, suspended in ice yet constantly shifting beneath the surface.

Encased in their frozen world, these blooms mirror the transient nature of existence. They embody the moments we attempt to hold still in photography—instants of transformation shaped by both external forces and internal fragility. These images are untouched by manipulation; they are raw, authentic reflections of the world as I perceive it. The interplay of chance and intention reveals hidden beauty in the ordinary, capturing a delicate balance between order and chaos.

'Intrinsically Disordered Petals' is more than a collection of photographs; it’s a meditation on impermanence, resilience, and the quiet elegance of disorder. Through these frozen blossoms, I invite viewers to embrace change, to find meaning in uncertainty, and to recognize the fleeting moments that shape us.
