'Baroque' is the second collection in my series exploring the world of frozen flowers, pushing deeper into the intricate interplay of color, texture, and form.
'Baroque' is a visual exploration of movement, transformation, and excess—where flowers meet ice in a delicate yet dramatic collision. Inspired by the grandeur and turbulence of the Baroque era, this series captures organic forms at their peak of vibrancy, just as they surrender to an inevitable shift.
Each bloom, once fresh, is suspended in ice, its petals curling, twisting, and dissolving into fluid textures. The oil paint-like effect further distorts the boundaries between photography and painting, reinforcing the tension between the organic and the artificial.
By embracing digital manipulation, I reflect on contemporary aesthetics—how we refine and alter our own appearances, how we seek to enhance and preserve what is fleeting. Yet, beneath these layers, the raw essence remains. Baroque is not just about capturing beauty; it is about transformation, the tension between preservation and decay, and the fleeting nature of life itself.
